PRINEVILLE - Mountain View scored two runs in the top of the sixth inning to edge Crook County 4-3 in an Intermountain Conference softball game Tuesday at Crook County High School.
Maryn Wright and Andee Hayward each had RBIs in the sixth inning to lead the Cougars over the Cowgirls in the IMC opener for Mountain View.
Alexis Humphrey led the Cougars (1-0 IMC, 5-7 overall) with three singles and one RBI.
Miranda Boyd pitched a complete game for Mountain View and also added a double.
"She was hitting her spots and kept us in the game," said Mountain View assistant coach Brian Hayward.
Crook County had 14 hits in the game but left 10 runners on base. Mantana Reece led the Cowgirls, going three for four at the plate with one RBI. Kasey George was also three of four for Crook County (0-3 IMC, 7-5 overall).
Crook County travels to Hermiston for an IMC doubleheader on Saturday, while Mountain View is idle until it hosts Madras next Tuesday afternoon.
