After a year’s experiment at Cottage Square in north Bend, Pepe’s Mexican Restaurant will return next month to its original Madras home, where it was first established in 1991. Privately owned by the Pepe Chavez family, the traditional eatery is known for its excellent tamales, burritos, carnitas and chile rellenos. Jen’s Garden restaurant and the Cork Cellars wine shop in Sisters are combining forces to offer an “Old World vs. New World” wine dinner April 20. Twelve French and Pacific Northwest wines will be paired with a six-course dinner prepared by chef T.R. McCrystal. Seating for the $125 dinner, which begins at 6 p.m., is limited to 20 guests.
