The concept is wonderfully simple.
Tonight, take $7 to the Old Stone Church (157 N.W. Franklin Ave., Bend), and you can check out seven local bands.
And these aren’t seven lousy bands. They’re some of the best Central Oregon has to offer, at least among those that huddle beneath the rather large “rock” umbrella.
Here’s seven words on each to give you an idea of what you’ll get tonight for the low, low price of a buck per band:
• The Dirty Words: Acoustic guitar-led, heart-on-sleeve rock.
• Necktie Killer: Band geeks gather for ska revival. Horns!
• Tuck and Roll: Catchy punks embrace fuzz. You will dance.
• Anastacia: Soulful pop that will haunt your dreams.
• Goodbye Dyna: At least someone’s keeping alt-rock alive.
• Leif James and the Struggle: Gritty, rootsy blues-rock played with precision.
• Larry and His Flask: Let yourself drown in the acoustic maelstrom.
Doors open at 7 p.m., show starts at 8 p.m., and there will be food, beer and mixed drinks. Only cash will be accepted for entry and grub. And sorry, folks under 21, this one’s not for you.
