Of all the bands playing in Bend this Saturday night, the relatively new quartet Warm Gadget may just be the most naturally Halloween-appropriate. No need to take my word for it, though; check out the song titles at www.myspace.com/warmgadget7: “Creapy on the Inside,” “Pain By Numbers,” “Witch Hunt.”
And that’s just words on a page. Aurally, Warm Gadget takes different parts — the caustic throat of Tim Vester, the electronic backbone of Colten Williams, and the skull-crushing, industrial rhythms of Eric Metzger and Jared Forqueran — and weaves them into a sound that’s uniformly heavy, abrasive, challenging and unnerving. It’s the ideal soundtrack for those who prefer their fright-night as “creapy” as can be.
Warm Gadget and Goodbye Dyna; 9 p.m. Saturday; $5; Silver Moon Brewing & Taproom, 24 N.W. Greenwood Ave., Bend; 541-388-8331 or www.myspace.com/musicsilvermoon.
