more photosNecktie Killer frontman Ben Mann is always ready for Halloween. Photos on the band's MySpace reveal that the man spends most of the Redmond-based group's gigs decked head-to-toe in Fred Flintstone gear.
And Mann's band is always ready to rock a good party. Necktie's origins are in high school band class, that eternal crossroads of endearing geekery and serious musical chops that produces not only excellent posture but also the occasional rip-roarin' ska band. Thanks, no doubt, to their formal training, Necktie's songs are tightly wound, catchy as a cold, and above all, tons of fun.
Punks of all shapes and sizes should find themselves at the Black Horse Saloon on Saturday night, where the band will share a bill with a couple of fine pop-punk acts. Non-punks are welcome, too; no studded, patch-covered leather jacket required.
