Loyal and B. June (Beam) Miller, of Madras, will celebrate their 65th anniversary April 21 with an open house at Madras Christian Church, hosted by their children. All who know them are welcome.
The couple were married April 19, 1947, at Church of Christ in Madras. They have four children, Sharon Haag and Dann (and Elaine), both of Madras, Linda (and Norm) Mabee, of Woodburn, and Christine (and John) Vender, of Monument; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Miller worked at Warm Springs Lumber until his retirement in 1984. He is a WWII veteran, serving in Burma. He enjoys woodworking and makes toys and games. Mrs. Miller worked as a clerk at Satterlee’s Jewelry in Madras until her retirement in 1989. She enjoys bowling, crocheting and knitting. She is a charter member of the Friendly Neighbor Club. They were foster parents for 31 years, fostering 75 children. They are both members of Madras Christian Church and Madras Saturday Market.
They have lived in Central Oregon since 1946.
