• Pronghorn hires new head professional: Joey Pickavance has been hired as the head professional at Pronghorn Club.
Pickavance, who was the lead instructor at Pronghorn’s PGA Tour Academy in 2010 and 2011, returns after spending a year as the director of instruction at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge in Washington.
Pickavance was the director of instruction for The Bridges Golf Club in San Ramon, Calif., before moving to Central Oregon in 2010.
Pickavance replaces Nolan Halterman, who left Pronghorn last fall to become the director of golf at Anthem Country Club in Henderson, Nev.
• Meadow Lakes promotes assistant pro: Zach Lampert, a 24-year-old Prineville native, has been named the head professional at Meadow Lakes Golf Course in Prineville.
Lampert, who is in his fourth season coaching the Crook County High School boys golf team, has been the assistant golf pro at Meadow Lakes since 2011 and has worked at Meadow Lakes since 2003. A CCHS graduate, Lampert is in the PGA of America apprenticeship program and is a 2009 graduate of Oregon State University-Cascades in communication and business administration.
Lampert replaces Alan Hoover, who resigned last week after spending the past year as Meadow Lakes’ head professional and general manager.
