Summer lunch

• Bend-La Pine Schools' free education program gets under way at nine parks

The Bend-La Pine Schools' free summer lunch program is under way at nine parks in Bend and La Pine.

The program is funded by the U.S. Depart-ment of Agriculture.

Lunch is free for all children ages 18 and younger. Parents may purchase lunch for $3 or bring their own lunch.

The Lunch and Learn summer reading program takes place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Al Moody, Finley Butte, Orchard, Pilot Butte Neighborhood and Sun Meadow parks.

The program continues through Aug. 4.
