Hundreds of people plan to observe the eight-day Feast of Tabernacles beginning Sunday at the Deschutes County Fair & Expo Center in Redmond.
The feast, which celebrates the Christian promise of the second coming of Christ, is Sunday through Oct. 8. It is a holiday observed by members of the United Church of God and other Christians as one of the biblical holy days celebrated by early Christians.
Church services will be held daily in the expo center’s Middle Sisters conference room. Sunday’s service begins at 7:30 p.m. On Oct. 1 and Oct. 6, services are at 1:30 p.m. All other days, services will be at 10:30 a.m.
The event will include activities for families, seminars and more.
