‘Two Rivers, Three Sisters’ in Sunriver

Published: November 09. 2012 4:00AM PST

“Two Rivers, Three Sisters," a 40-foot quilt made by 18 Central Oregon master quilters, will display Monday through late December in the Lodge at Sunriver Resort. The quilt debuted in June and spent the rest of the summer and early fall touring the Northwest.

The quilt is a “masterpiece," according to Ann Richardson, executive director of the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show. Show organizers initiated the piece to tell the story of Whychus Creek through the lens of fiber art. Community efforts to revitalize Whychus Creek and the Metolius River inspired the creation of the quilt, according to a release announcing the display.

“Thanks to the efforts of many partners, water once again flows in Whychus Creek. Native fish are returning to spawn for the first time in 40 years and a community is rediscovering a gem in its own backyard," the release said.
