David "Bruce" Goodman

Nov. 10, 1952 - Dec. 20, 2012

David "Bruce" Goodman was born in Salem, OR, to Barbara & Henry Scott Goodman of Eugene. He attended high school at South Eugene High School and then went on to join the USMC. He was a proud Marine who was honorably discharged after serving in Hawaii during the Vietnam War. In 1980, he met the love of his life, Christi, and they were married in 1981. They brought only one child into the world in 1984, a daughter they named Alesha. The family moved to Bend from Eugene in the mid-80's and has been here ever since. Bruce spent the majority of his life as a General Contractor specializing in custom homes, decks, and remodeling. In the more recent past, he spent 6 proud years at U-Haul as their Hitch Pro. Bruce was a dedicated family man, enjoyed spending his free time with his close friends, and loved watching OSU Beaver Football. He enjoyed the great outdoors, laughing, good food, hard work, common sense, good conversation and a great party. He touched many lives everywhere he went with his incredible sense of humor, friendliness, intelligence, and infectious smile and laughter. On 12/20/12 we suddenly lost one of the best people we will ever have the pleasure to know. Bruce had just turned 60, watched his daughter turn 28, and celebrated his 31-year wedding anniversary on August 1st. Bruce is preceded in death by his parents, Barbara Bissell & Gilbert Bissell; brother, Noel Goodman and nephew, Adam Cooper. He is survived by his wife, Christi Goodman; daughter, Alesha Goodman; sister, Penny Cooper; and brothers, Brad Bissell and Scott Goodman; as well as 11 nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the D&D Bar & Grill in Downtown Bend on Saturday February 9, 2013, from 2:30-7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to any US Bank Branch to a special donation account set up under Christi Goodman, to help with Bruce's final expenses.

Condolences may be left online at http://www.autumnfunerals.net/ under the guestbook for his name on the Obituaries page.

Rest In Peace, Our Dear Bruce.
