Oliver 'Ollie' Roosevelt Van Cise

July 14, 1921 - March 8, 2013

Born on July 14, 1921, in Summit, New Jersey, Ollie was the youngest of seven children. A lifetime Presbyterian, he attended Marysville College in Tennessee, and served his country in the Army during World War II.

Oliver married Thelma Tally Bettencourt in 1946, the beginning of 59 years together.

A teacher and guidance counselor for 39 years in Chatham Township, Ollie was also an avid and accomplished tennis player and worked at Forest Lake Camp every summer for 30 years.

After retiring, Ollie and Tally relocated from Basking Ridge, New Jersey to Bend, where he will always be remembered for his contagious smile, wonderful sense of humor and magnificent puns.

He is survived by their children, Glenn J. Van Cise and Lynn Marie Van Cise; his wife, Tally, preceded him in death.
