Robert Relyea, 82: Film producer and director whose credits during his 40-year career included “The Magnificent Seven" and “West Side Story"; he also worked with John Wayne, Elvis Presley and Steve McQueen. Died March 5 in Los Angeles.

Ruth Ann Steinhagen, 83: Chicago woman whose near-fatal 1949 shooting of former Chicago Cubs first baseman Eddie Waitkus inspired the book and the movie “The Natural." Died with the same anonymity with which she lived for more than half a century, in December.
