New program will track medical errors in Oregon

After surgery in 2002 to remove her gall bladder, Bend resident Susan Cook suffered an infection that required an additional surgery to treat.

For three months that new wound didn't heal.

"It was so frustrating," Cook, 49, said. "It felt like sandpaper in my abdomen."
