Brian Barden, who played for the Bend Elks in their inaugural season in 2000, was hitting .295 in the Pacific Coast League for the Memphis Redbirds when he was named to the U.S. Olympic team in July. A former Oregon State Beaver, Barden has been Triple-A Memphis’ starting shortstop....
