TOLEDO, Ohio — University of Oregon freshman Andrew Vijarro finished in 108th place after carding a 14-over-par 78-75-74—227 last week at the 112th NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships at Inverness Golf Club.

The former Bend High School golfer posted the third-best score for the Ducks, who ended the team competition in 22nd place with a combined team score of 45-over-par 897.

Vijarro’s effort helped UO — which started four freshmen and a sophomore — notch its best NCAA team finish since 2003, when it placed 22nd, and the team’s first back-to-back appearances since 1998-99.
