PSU social work degree starts in Bend next fall

Portland State University’s School of Social Work will offer a three-year master’s degree in social work starting fall 2010 in Bend. The classes will be offered at the university’s local office in north Bend.

The program will feature Friday classes in Bend throughout the three years, as well as online classes and field instruction. Applications for the program are due March 15, and local site coordinator Gary Smith will hold three informational meetings about the program next week.

The meetings will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, at the Becky Johnson Community Center, 412 S.W. Eighth St., Redmond; from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at Central Oregon Community College’s Boyle Education Center, 2600 N.W. College Way, Bend; and from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at the Juvenile Community Justice Building 1, 63360 Britta St., Bend.
