Fort Collins, Colo.-based Advanced Energy Industries Inc., parent company of Bend’s PV Powered, on Monday reported record revenues of $148.7 million for its fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, up from $58.1 million in fourth quarter 2009. Net income for the quarter was $31.4 million, or 72 cents per diluted share, up from $1.5 million, or 4 cents per share, a year ago.
For all of 2010, the company reported revenues of $459.4 million, up from $161.8 million in 2009, and net income of $71.2 million, or $1.64 per diluted share, compared with a net loss of $102.7 million, or $2.45 per share, in 2009.
Advanced Energy took over PV Powered in May 2010. PV Powered makes solar-electric inverters, which convert the sun’s energy collected by solar cells into electricity.
“Coupled with our industry-leading thin film products, our expansion into renewables led to our record revenue quarter, as we further penetrated the inverter market,” Hans Betz, Advanced Energy CEO, said in a news release.
Shares of Advanced Energy, which released its earnings after the close of the market, closed Monday at $15.79, up 45 cents, or 2.9 percent in Nasdaq trading.
