A rundown of games and events to watch for locally and nationally from the world of sports:
Tuesday
Boys basketball, Mountain View at Redmond, 7 p.m. — Two of Central Oregon’s top boys teams meet in an early Intermountain Conference matchup. Athletic wing Mitch Modin leads the Cougars (8-1), while 6-foot-6 point guard Matt Dahlen has been key for the Panthers (6-4).
Thursday
Men’s college basketball, No. 3 Arizona at Oregon, 6 p.m. (ESPN2) — After Sunday’s Civil War with the Beavers, things don’t get easier for the Ducks, as the unbeaten Wildcats visit Eugene. Arizona has seemed vulnerable at the start of Pac-12 play, narrowly defeating Colorado and Utah. If the Wildcats get past the Ducks, Oregon State gets a shot at handing them their first loss (Saturday, 5 p.m., ESPNU).
Saturday
Skiing, Tele-fest at Hoodoo Ski Area, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. — Tele-fest is billed as the premier telemark skiing and alpine-touring event on the West Coast. The event includes demos, telemark group clinics, free-heel racing, a free-heel big-air contest and lots of prizes. For more information, visit hoodoo.com.
Saturday
Skiing, Patagonia Pursuit at Mt. Bachelor ski area, 10 a.m. — An annual benefit for the Mt. Bachelor Sports Education Foundation, the Patagonia Pursuit is a cross-country race that begins with a mass start classic leg, followed by a triathlon-style transition and a skate leg to the finish. The event is for all ages, individuals and teams. For more information, including registration, visit mbsef.org.
Saturday-Sunday
Football, NFL playoffs, divisional round — Saturday features perhaps the most anticipated matchup of the four games — the Green Bay Packers at the San Francisco 49ers (5 p.m., Fox). The matinee on Saturday is Ravens at Broncos (1:30 p.m., CBS). Sunday’s games are Seahawks-Falcons (10 a.m., Fox) and Texans-Patriots (1:30 p.m., CBS).
