Kicker Ryan Longwell, a Bend High graduate and 15-year NFL veteran, reportedly is being considered for a tryout with the Seattle Seahawks.

ESPN reported on Monday that Longwell and fellow NFL veteran Neil Rackers were expected to try out today as the Seahawks look for a backup for Steven Hauschka. Hauschka suffered a calf strain Sunday during Seattle’s 24-14 win over the Washington Redskins in the NFC wild-card playoff round, and his availability for this Sunday’s divisional playoff game at Atlanta is uncertain.

Longwell, 38, played nine seasons for Green Bay and six for Minnesota before he was released by the Vikings last May.
