Louise B. Horsell of Redmond, OR, died January 9, 2013, at the age of 91. She was born January 6, 1922, to Carl and Hattie (McGuire) Larson in Redmond, OR. She attended school in Alfalfa in her earlier years before she and her parents moved to Montana. She returned to central Oregon and finished the 8th grade in Alfalfa.
In 1937, she married Casey Perry. They lived together in Bend. She worked at Old Owl Drugstore, baking and selling her pies. Louise and Casey moved to the Willamette Valley, and Louise worked as a supervisor on the food line at Chet’s Food. She also worked for American Linen.
Her first husband died in 1964. Six years later she married Arthur Horsell on September 1, 1973, in Powell Butte. She became a farmer’s wife and worked on the farm and as a housewife.
Louise and Arthur were active members of the VFW and she was a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary. She also enjoyed gardening, crocheting, sewing, dancing, cooking and family gatherings.
Louise is survived by her husband, Arthur Horsell; two daughters, Jeanette (Lauren) Ewing and Karon Morgan; a step daughter, Deborah (James) Urell; and her sister, Carol Holcomb; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, (number 17 is on the way). She was preceded in death by her daughter, Joyce Yorozu; and her stepson, Dennis Horsell.

A visitation will be held Monday Jan. 14, 2013, from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m., at Redmond Memorial Chapel, with a graveside service to follow at 11:00 a.m., at Deschutes Memorial Gardens in Bend. There will also be a memorial service later that day at 1:00 p.m., at The Redmond VFW Hall with a potluck to follow.
