Robert Chew, 52: Actor who played Baltimore drug lord Proposition Joe on the HBO series “The Wire.” Died Thursday at his home in Baltimore.

Gussie Moran, 89: Ranked American tennis player who in 1949 caused an international stir and gained worldwide fame for competing at Wimbledon wearing a short skirt and lace-trimmed underwear. Died Wednesday.
