Feb. 8, 1925 – Feb. 22, 2013

Bernadine Ruth Lowery died February 22, 2013, in Redmond, OR, at the age of 88.

Bernadine was born February 8, 1925, in McMinnville, OR, to Creighton and Frances (Kneal) Shaw. When Bernadine was very young her family relocated to Central Oregon, and finally settled in the Sisters area when she was six years old. On June 29, 1940, she married Elmer J. Lowery, they had three children together. Bernadine graduated from the first nursing class at COCC and worked at the Redmond Hospital as an LPN. Bernadine was a devoted mother and grandmother.

She is survived by a son, ”Jack” Victor Lowery and a daughter, ”Susie” Geneva Tewalt, six grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, her son, ”Buster” Richard, and a granddaughter, Jackie Lowery.

Memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to The Hari Homestead, at 5170 SW Wickiup Ave., Redmond, OR 97756.
