5 p.m. on TCM, Movie: ‘‘Grand Hotel’’ — The granddaddy of every other all-star, multiple-plot movie, this 1932 classic based on Vicki Baum’s novel and play keeps just about every MGM contract player of the time bustling through the lobby and corridors of a posh Berlin hotel. Greta Garbo is cast as a dancer targeted by a royal thief played by John Barrymore — whose brother, Lionel, also stars. Other screen favorites include Joan Crawford, Wallace Beery, Lewis Stone and Jean Hersholt.

6 p.m. on ESPN, ‘‘College Basketball’’ — One of college basketball’s fiercest rivalries gets another chapter tonight at Dean E. Smith Center in Chapel Hill as the Duke Blue Devils visit the North Carolina Tar Heels. Seth Curry and Mason Plumlee have Mike Krzyzewski’s Blue Devils in the hunt for a high seed in the NCAA Tournament. North Carolina standouts James Michael McAdoo and Reggie Bullock hope to overcome a disappointing season and spoil their rivals’ spot in the bracket.

8 p.m. on 6, ‘‘Person of Interest’’ — Finch and Reese (Michael Emerson, Jim Caviezel) have their work cut out for them when the Machine hands them a strange case: a person who is apparently leading two lives but hasn’t left a digital footprint in either one. Brett Cullen (‘‘The Gates’’) and Rhys Coiro (‘‘A Gifted Man’’) guest star in ‘‘Identity Crisis.’’

8 p.m. on FOOD, ‘‘Restaurant Stakeout’’ — Dawn, the owner of the Liberty Bar and Grill in Hoboken, N.J., calls on Willie Degel for help in this episode. She’s been in business for 14 years, but the restaurant is on shaky ground now, and she doesn’t know why. He soon discovers the reason: Dawn’s hands-off management style has led to some serious issues in the ranks. He needs to convince her that she needs to assume more of a leadership role in ‘‘Act Like the Boss.’’

8 p.m. on LIFE, Movie: ‘‘Restless Virgins’’ — Inspired by a true story, this new docudrama uncovers a world where privileged teens run wild at a New England prep school. When Emily (Vanessa Marano, ‘‘Switched at Birth’’), a scholarship student and editor of the school newspaper, discovers five members of the lacrosse team made a sex tape with a classmate, she blows the lid off the controversy by releasing the tape virally.
