Biblical scholar lectures on Lent

Marcus Borg, a religious scholar and author of 19 books, will give a public lecture in Bend on Thursday titled “The Climax of the Lenten Journey: Holy Week, Good Friday and Easter.”

Borg is an internationally known biblical and Jesus scholar. He was Hundere Chair of Religion and Culture in the Philosophy Department at Oregon State University until his retirement in 2007.

While Trinity Episcopal Church is putting on the event, due to recent fire damage it will be held at Nativity Lutheran Church, 60850 Brosterhous Road. It will start at 7 p.m. and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. A donation is suggested.
