Deaths of note from around the world:

Olen Burrage, 82: A member of the Ku Klux Klan and owner of the Mississippi farm where the bodies of three slain civil rights workers were found in 1964. The killings of voter-registration volunteers Michael Schwerner, Andrew Goodman and James Chaney in Philadelphia, Miss., shocked the nation and led to passage of the federal Civil Rights Act later that year. Burrage was one of 18 men charged in connection with the case, but was one of seven acquitted. Eight were convicted and the jury deadlocked on the other three. The case was the subject of several books and a movie. Burrage died Friday in Meridian, Miss.
