When Drew West, of Bend, co-founded Eco Crush in 2010, he was on a mission. West, who had a background in the concrete business, and co-founder Bayard Fox, wanted to create a material for countertops and other flat surfaces that had the visual appeal and durability of stone surfaces.

After much research and development, Eco Crush hit on its formula of recycled

crushed stone, concrete and glass held together with a resin adhesive the company developed. From that beginning, the company has taken off. Its products are available at dozens of retailers and contain as much as 88 percent recycled material.

What: A Bend manufacturing company that uses crushed, recycled stone, glass and concrete to create slab countertops suitable for kitchens and bathrooms.
