Tips sought in dog shooting

The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in determining who shot and wounded a dog just north of Terrebonne.
Torrey Brittain, the owner of Jethro, found the 8-month-old shepherd and heeler mix bloodied and injured at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The dog had apparently been shot with a shotgun. The dog had last been seen about 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Neighbors to the home off of Northeast Eby Ave and Northeast First Street reported hearing a single gunshot between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. Thursday, according to the Sheriff’s Office. While the dog is expected to survive, it will lose its left eye.
