March 23,1967 – May 12, 2013

Mike went home to his Lord and Savior on May 12, 2013 at the age of 46. He was born March 23, 1967 in Hillsboro Oregon to Ray and Barbara Applegate. He later moved to Madras Oregon and went to Madras High School where he met his Best Friend Mike McCool jr, who introduced him to his High School Sweetheart, Tami. They fell in love and married September 5, 1987. Mike followed in his fathers foot steps and learned to be a Diesel Mechanic at a very young age. Through the years he became well known and highly respected in the Garbage Truck and Equipment field. He was very proud of the 14 years he was Fleet Manager for Bend Garbage and Recycling.

Mike will always be remembered as the big guy with a big heart and great sense of humor. He loved and protected his family, friends and pets with everything he had in him. Mike used his strong faith in God to guide him through his life and he loved to tell everyone how the Lord was there for him always.

Mike was preceded in death by his Grandparents William Hopson, Clon Applegate, Bertie Applegate and his mother Barbara Hopson. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Tami Applegate, Father, Ray Applegate, Step Mother, Sue Applegate, Brothers, Tom Applegate and Richard Hart, Grandmother, Alice Hopson, His beloved Niece’s and Nephews, Best Friend, Jake Hess and many more family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 8,2013 at 11:00am. 1421 SW Canyon Dr. Redmond Oregon 97756.
