Robert Bob Schifferer

Robert ”Bob” Schifferer, a Prineville resident passed away May 29, 2013. He was 84 years old.

Bob was born in Turner, Oregon November 11, 1928 to John and Mary Schifferer. He joined the Army in 1953.

He was a farmer in the Turner area, raising prunes, cherries, sheep, and cattle until his retirement in 1991. Bob moved to Prineville and continued to work raising cattle and crops on the family farm. In 2000, he was the Grand Marshall of the Turner lamb and wool show.

He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Marie Smith-Schifferer of Prineville; a brother, Carl Schifferer and wife Gerda of Turner, Oregon; sisters, Dorothy Wilson and Margaret McRae and husband Alan; sons, Steve Smith of Eugene, Oregon, Doug Smith and wife Carol of Prineville, and Dan Smith and wife Carla of Bend, Oregon; seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jack Schifferer.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to St. Vincent de Paul or charity of one’s choice.

A funeral service will be held at Prineville Funeral Home 1:00 p.m. Monday June 3, 2013, with a committal to follow at Juniper Haven Cemetery.
