Frank Eugene Melton, 84, of Bend, Oregon, passed June 6, 2013, at St. Charles Medical Center, Redmond, Oregon.

Born October 15, 1928 in Pomona, California, an only child to Delbert Eugene Melton and Isabel Pierce Melton.

Frank married Darlene Duffy-Woods on June 26, 1949. A long-term resident of Pomona, CA and Bend, OR, he retired from the City of Bend in 1990.

Survivors include his wife, daughters, Linda Melton, Nancy Cashwell, and Carol Dunbar, son, Wayne Melton, 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Frank was an avid follower of NASCAR, formerly a dirt-track stock car driver competing in Southern California. He treasured fishing, camping and water skiing.

Notable for his embellished tales and witty remarks which were never in short supply, Franks legacy will bear out his effortless and colorful yarns in remembrance as the Master Storyteller.

By his devotion and inspiration, we have known him; a husband, father, grandfather and a friend who will be missed and treasured.

A private family remembrance will be held.
