Timbers beat Dallas — Darlington Nagbe scored in the 53rd minute and the Portland Timbers ran their MLS unbeaten streak to 13 games with a 1-0 victory at home over FC Dallas on Saturday. Portland (6-1-8, 26 points) pulled within two points of Western Division-leading Dallas (8-3-4). Portland hasn’t dropped a match since losing to Eastern Division-leading Montreal 2-1 on March 9. The victory Saturday was the Timbers’ sixth during their club-record 13-match unbeaten streak.

Murray in Queen’s Cup final — Top-seeded Andy Murray and defending champion Marin Cilic will play in the final at Queen’s Club after both earned three-set victories on Saturday in London. Murray, the champion in 2009 and 2011, rallied to defeat fourth-seeded Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 in a repeat of their 2011 final. Fifth-seeded Cilic of Croatia held off former four-time winner Lleyton Hewitt 6-4, 4-6, 6-2.

Federer advances — Roger Federer rallied past defending champion Tommy Haas 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 Saturday to reach the final of the Gerry Weber Open in Halle, Germany. Federer, who lost to Haas in last year’s final, is on course for his first title of 2013. Federer will play Mikhail Youzhny in the final today. Youzhny upset second-seeded Richard Gasquet 6-3, 6-2 in less than an hour.

Sagan wins stage — Slovakian rider Peter Sagan won stage eight of the Tour de Suisse and Mathias Frank retained the yellow jersey on Saturday heading into the final day individual time trial in Switzerland. Sagan, who rides for Cannondale, beat Daniele Bennati in a sprint finish at the end of a 111-mile stage from Zernoz to Bad Ragaz. Frank, a Swiss rider for BMC Racing, finished in the main group and holds a 13-second lead on Rui Alberto Costa with one stage left.
