Support egg production provisions
Published 5:00 am Sunday, June 16, 2013
The Egg Products Inspection Act Amendments of 2013 (HR 1731) is currently sitting in Congress and would replace the current conflicting state-by-state system. This amendment would provide a single national standard for the housing and production of eggs and will also improve the welfare of egg-laying hens, who are currently enduring cages so small they cannot fully extend their wings. It is endorsed by The Humane Society of the United States and the United Egg Producers, which represents the vast majority of egg farmers in the United States. Rep. Greg Walden, please vote “yes” on this important bipartisan bill.
