La Pine man arrested after fatal crash

A La Pine man has been arrested on suspicion of criminally negligent homicide and driving under the influence of intoxicants after he allegedly crashed into a motorcyclist on Oregon Highway 31 in Klamath County on Saturday.
According to Oregon State Police, around 6:55 p.m. on Saturday, Stephen Anthony Williams, 57, of Silver Lake, was driving his motorcycle eastbound on Highway 31 about eight miles southeast of U.S. Highway 97 in Klamath County when it collided with a van. The van, driven by Glen Leland Harvey Jr., 43, from La Pine, was turning from the westbound lane of the highway into a driveway. Williams ran into the passenger side of the van.
Williams, who was wearing a helmet, was taken by air ambulance to St. Charles Bend, where he died.
Harvey was not injured and was lodged at the Klamath County jail. The highway was closed for four hours.
