1951-2013

Karen grew up in Prineville, Oregon. Her mother was Margaret E. Peters and father, Clarence Y. Simpson; brother, Ernest and two sisters, Dorothy and Elise.

Karen graduated from Crook County High School. She married, Joseph L. Hilsinger, and they raised two sons, Brian and Kevin.

Karen received an associate degree in nursing and lived in Portland, Oregon. She and Joe were married for 33 years. They traveled to Italy, cruised to Alaska, Washington state, San Juan Islands, Victoria B.C., Montana, Wyoming, So. Dakota, California, and Arizona.

Karen was diagnosed with cancer in May 2013.

May she rest in the hands of the Lord.
