Fire managers will impose Industrial Fire Precaution Level II restrictions for the Deschutes and Ochoco National Forests, Crooked River National Grassland, and Prineville District of the Bureau of Land Management at midnight Sunday, according to the U.S. Forest Service on Thursday.
Under Level II restrictions, the following activities may only take place in the affected areas between 8 p.m. and 1 p.m.: using power saws, except at loading sites; cable yarding; blasting; welding or cutting of metal.
The regulations affect both commercial and personal-use firewood cutters, and industrial operators, according to the Forest Service.
