Lloyd was born in Caldwell, Idaho, to Joseph Wesley Root and Lola Emma Thompson Root on April 14, 1918.
Lloyd Married Rosabelle Huston on his 19th birthday in 1937, they were married for 76 years. Lloyd was a farmer in Caldwell. During WWII the government provided POWs from Germany to work his sugar beet fields.
The couple moved to Madras, Oregon in 1946 and lived there for 25 years. They moved to Bend, Oregon in 1971 where Lloyd was an insurance salesman until his retirement. Lloyd attended First Presbyterian Church of Bend, he was also a member of the Gideons.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Rosabelle and their sons, Marv and Rena Root of Franklin, NY, Stephen and Linda Root of Medford, OR, and Leonard and Angela Root of Dallas, TX; and his nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
