Chance reminds us every dog deserves loving home

The first part of his recent story is horrific.

Part two is full of love and support. So many people were moved by his incredible will to survive and his sweet face in the photo.

It’s likely many of us want to take him home and shower him with love.

Please do, please adopt, if not Chance then another deserving dog.

Do adopt if you can provide him with all the following: daily quality time, a safe environment appropriate for his breed, veterinary care and decent food (are you willing/able to spend around a thousand dollars a year?) training and lots of love.

You will gain a best friend, unconditional love, loyalty and devotion.

Though dogs don’t live as long as we do, they are a long-term commitment. There’s a story about a young boy and his amazing acceptance of his dog’s death. This child’s explanation: “Everybody is born so they can learn how to live a good life — like loving everybody and being nice, right? … Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don’t have to stay as long.”

Hopefully Chance’s recovery will go well, and I’m confident he will find the loving forever home he deserves.

A heartfelt “thank you” to everyone who is giving an adopted dog a loving home.
