A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for northwestern Crook County, north central Deschutes County – especially Redmond – and central Jefferson County as storms sweep through the area.

The storms are producing hail, winds over 60 mph and lots of rain, according to the National Weather Service in Pendleton.

The thunderstorms and lightning are expected to remain through 11 p.m. this evening, so the Central Oregon area remains under a red flag warning, meaning the weather is producing critical fire weather conditions.
