Portland Trail Blazers rookie guard C.J. McCollum broke a bone in his foot during practice on Saturday, according to the Blazers’ website.

A timetable has not been set for his return, and it’s unclear whether surgery will be required.

McCollum took questions from the media on Sunday about the injury, which is a break in the fifth metatarsal bone in his left foot. McCollum used crutches, and his left foot was in a boot.

In the June draft, the Blazers picked McCollum out of Lehigh with the 10th overall pick. His senior season was cut short because of a broken bone in the same foot in January.

“I was just very distraught,” McCollum said when he found out he had a broken bone. “Coming off an injury it’s tough to get hurt again.”

McCollum said he would get second opinions from two doctors.
