The Bend Genealogical Society will begin offering an evening version of its First Tuesday Mentoring Program beginning in November.
Sessions will run from 6-8 p.m. on the first Tuesdays of November, January, March and May. A morning session will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on the first Tuesdays of December, February and April.
The new schedule is an effort by the group “to reach out to people who work or who for other reasons cannot attend a program in the mornings,” according to a release.
The First Tuesday Mentoring Program offers one-on-one mentoring for beginning genealogists to help them learn how to research their family history. The sessions will be held at Williamson Hall at Rock Arbor Villa, 2200 N.E. U.S. Highway 20 in Bend, behind Jake’s Diner. A wireless connection will be available.
The program is free and open to the public, but registration is encouraged so mentors can prepare for the specific needs of each participant. Register by calling 541-317-9553.
