Redmond Police pursued to Bend and arrested a Redmond man wanted on a probation violation Wednesday.

Joey Lee Cox, 44, fled police, who spotted his gray Saturn Ion on U.S. Highway 97 near Veterans Way at about noon, according to Redmond Police Lt. Mike Kidwell.

Police pursued Cox south on U.S. 97, reaching 65 mph, until he drove over a spike strip laid by Deschutes County sheriff’s deputies near Deschutes Junction, according to police. The left front tire of his Ion deflated, Cox pulled to the roadside near Bowery Lane, Bend, and was arrested without incident, Kidwell said.

Cox was held on felony eluding a law officer, reckless driving and the probation violation.
