Truck pursuit — Oregon state troopers say a man hijacked a semitrailer truck at knife point from a driver who had stopped for dinner along Interstate 5 in Southern Oregon. Troopers said a suspect was arrested Thursday night, after officers deployed spike strips that shredded the truck’s tires. By the end of pursuit north of Roseburg, some wheels were down to bare rims, and the truck’s speed was down to 10 mph, according to police. When the truck stopped, officers sent in a dog to get the suspect out of the cab. Police said the man had been arrested recently on suspicion of assaulting an officer. The trucker wasn’t hurt.

Medford methadone — The owners of a children’s medical clinic and apartment complex are challenging the city of Medford’s approval for a methadone clinic in the neighborhood. They asked for a public hearing on the impacts. The clinic, known as Allied Health Services, serves about 500 drug addicts a day.
