Say no to partisan politics

When the Affordable Care Act was being debated in Congress, Republicans keep saying no to provisions that would have made the law a workable plan and would have helped everyone. What we have now is a bad compromise.

Now the Republicans say that the ACA is a bad idea and we need to redo it. Well, of course, that was their plan. The ACA is not as good as it could have been because the Republicans would not allow anything else to pass.

This country is a representative democracy, not a democracy; we elect people to represent a faction of people. What we have now is a Republican Party that represents the Republican point of view. They vote as a block. This is not a representative democracy; it is partisan politics. This is not good for the nation.

Let’s not allow this partisan politics to continue. Tell your representatives not to play this game with their constituents. Vote only for people who place the nation above the party.

Republicans said when President Barack Obama was elected that they would do all they could to make him a one-term president. That did not work, but they continue to pursue that objective. This is not what our country is built on. This is a great country because we work together for the greater good of all the people, and not for the good of the party.
