Djokovic wins ATP Finals — Defending champion Novak Djokovic beat top-ranked Rafael Nadal 6-3, 6-4 to win the ATP World Tour Finals on Monday, extending his winning streak to 22 matches and claiming the season-ending title for the third time. Djokovic, who has not lost a match since his defeat to Nadal in the U.S. Open final, returned superbly from the start to move his Spanish rival around the court and prevent him from dictating the points. Nadal hit only nine winners and was broken three times.

Braves planning new stadium — The Braves announced Monday they are leaving Turner Field and moving into a new 42,000-seat, $672 million stadium about 10 miles from downtown Atlanta in 2017. It’s not clear how much it will cost taxpayers. Braves executives John Schuerholz, Mike Plant and Derek Schiller said the team decided not to seek another lease at 17-year-old Turner Field and began talks with the Cobb Marietta Coliseum and Exhibit Hall Authority in July. Plant, the executive vice president of business operations, said the team has not signed a contract with Cobb County, but he’s “100 percent certain it will happen.”

Mattingly returning to Dodgers — Don Mattingly will return as manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers next season, along with most of his coaching staff. Tim Wallach was named the new bench coach Monday, moving over from third base to replace Trey Hillman, who was fired last month. Lorenzo Bundy, who was managing at Triple A-Albuquerque, joins the team to take Wallach’s spot. Mattingly returns for his fourth season with general manager Ned Colletti making no announcement about a possible contract extension.

Owens gold medal to be sold — One of the four Olympic gold medals won by track and field star Jesse Owens at the 1936 Berlin Games is set to go on the auction block. SCP Auctions says the medal could sell for upward of $1 million in the online auction that runs from Nov. 20-Dec. 7. Owens won gold in the 100- and 200-meters, the 400 relay and the long jump at the games attended by Adolph Hitler. According to the Laguna Niguel-based auction house, the medal to be sold is unidentifiable to a specific event. The medal is being sold by the estate of Robinson’s late widow, Elaine Plaines-Robinson. SCP Auctions Vice President Dan Imler said Monday the Owens family confirmed the medal is original; the whereabouts of the other three is unknown.

Pastrana leaving NASCAR — Travis Pastrana said Monday he’s leaving NASCAR after this weekend’s season finale Nationwide Series race at Homestead. Pastrana announced his decision on his Facebook page. He cited a lack of sponsorship, a desire to spend time with his wife and new daughter and frustration over his struggles in NASCAR as his reasons for leaving the sport.

Football

Titans’ Locker out for season — Titans quarterback Jake Locker will miss the rest of the season with a Lisfranc injury to his right foot that may need surgery. Coach Mike Munchak said Monday losing Locker is very disappointing and hard on the Titans (4-5). The quarterback was hurt in the second quarter of a 29-27 loss to Jacksonville at the end of an option play.

Harvin officially activated — The Seattle Seahawks have added wide receiver Percy Harvin to the 53-man roster. Monday’s move was expected as Seattle had to add Harvin to the active roster or he would have to remain on the physically unable to perform list for the remainder of the season. Seattle coach Pete Carroll said Harvin is expected to practice this week, meaning his Seahawks debut could come Sunday against Minnesota.

Basketball

UConn women beat Stanford — Bria Hartley had 20 points, eight rebounds and six assists to help No. 1 Connecticut beat No. 3 Stanford 76-57 on Monday night in Storrs, Conn. Kiah Stokes added 10 points, 13 rebounds and six blocks for the Huskies (2-0), who got a scare early in the second half when preseason All-America Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis went down trying for a rebound. Morgan Tuck, her replacement, scored eight straight points, including two 3-pointers, to make it 53-32 with 13:19 left. Stanford couldn’t get closer than 15 points the rest of the way.
