Beavers win final exhibition — Oregon State took down the Concordia Cavaliers 104-94 on Tuesday night at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis, behind an impressive 36-point performance from senior guard Roberto Nelson in Oregon State’s final exhibition game of the season. Five Beavers scored in double digits as the Beavers recovered from a slow start in the first half to take command of the game and put the Cavaliers away. Freshman Malcolm Duvivier posted 17 points, 16 of which came in the second half. He shot 7-of-8 from the field and provided a spark on defense.An inconsistent first half by Oregon State resulted in a 43-43 tie going into the break. The Beavers trailed by eight points with 9:30 remaining in the opening half, but closed the gap and tied it up on a clutch Nelson three pointer, three seconds before the intermission. Concordia senior Willy Ligon had a hot hand in the first half, scoring 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting.

Oregon suspends two players — Guard Dominic Artis and forward Ben Carter have been suspended by the No. 19 Oregon Ducks for violating NCAA rules against selling team-issued apparel. The length of the suspensions has not been determined. Artis and Carter did not accompany the team on its trip to South Korea for the Ducks’ opener against Georgetown on Friday. Oregon did not provide details about what the players sold. Both must donate the value of the apparel to charity. Oregon said it uncovered the violation internally and reported it to both the Pac-12 and the NCAA.

Packers’ Rodgers out with fracture — Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers says he has a fractured left collarbone and he doesn’t know how long he will be out. Rodgers offered details of the injury on his weekly radio show on 540-AM ESPN on Tuesday. The 2011 NFL MVP got hurt after getting sacked by Shea McClellin on a third-down play during the Packers’ first series while he was scrambling outside the pocket. He hurt his left, non-throwing shoulder. Rodgers hasn’t missed a game due to injury since Dec. 19, 2010. Seneca Wallace finished 11 for 19 for 114 yards and an interception in the 27-20 loss.

Kubiak released from hospital — Texans coach Gary Kubiak has been released from a Houston hospital after suffering what the team says was a mini-stroke during Sunday night’s loss to Indianapolis. The team said the 52-year-old Kubiak suffered an transient ischemic attack at halftime. He is expected to make a full recovery, but the Texans said they aren’t sure when he will resume his coaching duties. Kubiak released a statement through the team saying: “I’ve been through an ordeal and my focus now is to get back to good health.”

Djokovic beats Federer at ATP Finals — Defending champion Novak Djokovic defeated six-time winner Roger Federer 6-4, 6-7 (2), 6-2 at the ATP World Tour Finals on Tuesday in London, improving his chances of overtaking Rafael Nadal in the race for the year-end No. 1 spot. Djokovic is trying to finish No. 1 for the third year in a row. Nadal, who eased past David Ferrer 6-3, 6-2 earlier Tuesday, needs only one more win in London to be guaranteed of the top spot.
