Oregonians will be able to see the child prodigy in action when she presents “Songs from the Silver Screen” with the Oregon Symphony on Nov. 30 at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in Portland.

The young soprano from Pittsburgh was selected to appear on “America’s Got Talent” after winning the show’s 2010 YouTube competition. She remains the most successful recording artist from the program, selling more than a million copies of her debut album, “O Holy Night.”

Billboard Magazine placed Evancho on its list of music movers-and-shakers under the age of 21 in 2012 because the soprano’s “spellbinding, operatic vocals possess a power and poignancy that often moves listeners multiple times her age to tears,” according to her website.

Released in 2012, her most recent album “Songs from the Silver Screen” features 12 songs used in popular films. Her Portland program will feature songs from this album, including “My Heart Will Go On” (from “Titanic”), “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” (“The Lion King”), “Pure Imagination” (“Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory”) and “Music of the Night” (“Phantom of the Opera”).
