Alta May Bee of Prine- ville, Oregon, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Nov. 9, 2013. She was 79.

Alta was born July 16, 1934, in Port Angeles, Washington, to Walter and Margaret (Howel) Oaks. She grew up in Port Angeles and Tacoma, Washington, where she graduated from Lincoln High School in 1952. On March 5, 1970, she married Lloyd Hoover Bee in Gig Harbor, Washington.

Alta and Lloyd moved to Casa Grande, Arizona where they lived for 14 years, and then moved to Prineville, Oregon, in 2009, to be closer to their daughter, Kathy.

Alta was a gifted artist and enjoyed crafts, crocheting, sewing, working with ceramics and stained glass.

Alta leaves behind her daughters, Kathy (husband, Dan) Valverde of Prineville, Oregon, and Suzie (husband, Chuck) Hayward of Garfield, Washington; and step-daughter, Janice (husband, Gary) Howe of North Vancouver, British Columbia. Other survivors include seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Bee, who passed away September 23, 2013; both of her parents; two brothers; three sisters; and two grandchildren.
