Merl Elizabeth ”Beth” Loflin, of Redmond, Oregon, passed away on November 14, 2013. She was 89. An Urn Committal Service will take place on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Diamond Crest Cemetery, in Johnstonville, CA.
A Celebration of a Life Lived will immediately follow.
Merl was born January 31, 1924, in Springtown, Arkansas, to Jess L. and Mary (Wright) Carr. She attended school in Vera, OK, graduating from Copan High School in 1942. On March 31, 1950, she married Eurcel F. Loflin in Tahlequah, OK.
In 1951, Merl along with her husband, moved to Sierra Army Depot at Herlong, CA, where she lived until 2005 when she moved to Redmond, OR to be closer to family.
Merl is survived by her daughter, Trish Bowers of Redmond, OR; two grandchildren, Darcy (husband, Douglas) Marshall of Bend, OR and Hiram (wife, Keri) Francek of Redmond, OR; other survivors include one great grandchild, Kinley Francek; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Merl made many good friends during her snowbird years in Yuma, AZ, and leaves behind, them and other friends scattered throughout the country.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eurcel; both parents; sisters, Ruby, Opal, Rachael, Jessie Mae, and Maryanne and two sons-in-law, Thomas B. Francek and Gary E. Bowers.
