Bottle release party Saturday at Crux

Crux Fermentation Project plans its second Bottle Release Party from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at its tasting room (50 S.W. Division St., Bend). Coffee, breakfast, “beer-titos” and music by Michael Lewis Martinez will be on hand. Bottles of three newly-released beers in the Banished series will available for purchase:

Freakcake Barrel-Aged Oud Bruin Ale — aged in bourbon barrels, with figs, dates, cranberries and other dried fruits added.

Doublecross Dark Belgian Ale — aged in pinot barrels for complex flavors of dried fruit, vanilla and sherry.

Half Hitch Imperial Mosaic IPA — Flavors of guava, mango, stone fruit and lemon might unravel your idea of what an Imperial IPA should be, says the brewery.

These Banished series beers are hidden away for months in oak barrels, allowing flavors to mature, meld and mellow, according to the brewery. Some of them also contain live yeast, making them good candidates for cellaring at home.

The party will also include a second release of Tough Love Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout.
